On Thursday 24 May we had a very interesting lecture: The world of Sits. It was an afternoon around the wonderful hand painted textiles called sits, in which we looked at the history and traditions of sits, but also put some light on the present use and development of this fantastic crafts.

Apart from Claudy Jongstra who gave an introduction and spoke about her new monumental work Woven Skin, we invited two wonderful speakers: Gieneke Arnolli (curator textile and fashion of Fries Museum) and Theodorus Johannes (freelance film maker and photographer).

You can find the report about this inspirational afternoon here (in Dutch).
